It’s time ladies and gentlemen. Now is the perfect time to quit League. The game is not like it used to be and I will be giving you 10 solid reasons to quit League of Legends.
Actually, you don’t even need any reasons from me to quit it. You are delaying the inevitable and already know it’s time. Still, if you really need reasons to stop playing League of Legends, read the reasons I’ve came up with.
Believe me, if you shift your focus on League to another area of your life, greatness can be achieved!
1. Toxic Environment
Why League of Legends player-base is so toxic? LOL players are highly toxic because Riot let them be for a very long time. Banning players is not good for business after all. They have been toxic for years and it’s not easy to change the behavior of entire player-base in a day.
Also, time to time, toxicity gets praised and referred as good trait. Don’t believe me? Check out the most famous League of Legends streamers. They’re the most toxic player you can get matched with.
Worst of all, you’ll slowly become a toxic player yourself if you keep playing in this environment.
2. Smurf Players
Some shady websites sell 30 level smurf accounts for a dirt-cheap price. Because these accounts are mostly leveled by bots.
Riot sometimes detect botting and smurfing, but not all the time. Besides, if anything goes wrong for the smurf player, he/she can simply buy another cheap account to play.
You want to climb league? Or trying to have a fun game after a long day of working? Not gonna happen… One mega smurf will ruin your gaming experience by getting 30 kills in 15 minutes.
The game is not gonna end right away either. Smurf players does not really care about climbing. They like to toy with their opponent, thrash talk, stomp, or even toy with. So, there is a smurf in your game, expect a long torture.
All in all, smurf players are one of the biggest problems of League of Legends, and it’s not going to be solved any time soon.
3. Intentional Feeders
Riot barely takes action against intentionally feeders. A feeder can die 20 times and participate in 2 kills to claim it was just a bad game. Riot will not punish.
Of course, if someone dies +20 times with 0 kills and assists, they will be banned for inting. However, inters are smart, they will feed and participate slightly to the game just enough to not get banned.
Overall, one player can decide to ruin your +25 minutes, and emotional investment by smart intentional feeding and get away with it.
4. Fixed Winrate
You can be a good play or bad player in League, it doesn’t really matter. Eventually, your winrate will hit the %50 mark.
No matter what rank you are in. Once you start winning in a row, expect a lose streak soon.
LOL FIXED WINRATE LOSERS QUEUE
Losers queue is a thing. Once you get into the losers queue, you are doomed to lose. Don’t believe me? Just check your team-mates and opponent team via op.gg or something. One team is filled with winner smurfs, other is filled with bad-winrate losers. Why is that happening? Probably because you’ve won couple of games in a row and now the game is trying to balance it by making you lose.
5. Ranked Grind – Hard to Climb
Since you’re not a smurf for certain, your team have a 4 player slots that can be a smurf. Whereas opponent team have 5 player slots that can have a smurf. So, you’ll have really bad games because of smurfing accounts. What’s more, your team probably will flame the lane opponent of the smurfing dude.
You need to play at least 100 games to be at where your skill level is close to. Which is a really long grind… Think about all the trolls, feeders, smurfs, queue times, and etc. It’s just not really worth it. But the addiction is forcing you to climb in ranked. All am I saying is, it’s time to break the cycle.
So, what if you climb to the rank you want? There is no reward in that. Except some useless skin at the end of the season. Also, you need to keep playing up until the end of season in order to keep your rank. Otherwise, your rank will decay…
6. Lack of Team Communication
You cannot communicate with your team effectively in League of Legends. There is no voice communication option in the game and chatting is not effective in a fast-paced moba.
Of course, you can ping but that is not really effective either. There is a limit to how much you can ping. Besides most players doesn’t even recognize pings.
What’s more, your team-mates might think your pings are toxic with a sinister meaning behind them…
7. Stomp or Get Stomped
Games are too uneven. You’ll be either stomping the other team or get stomped by them. Yes, new fast paced meta is one of the reasons. However, it’s mostly like that because of the fixed-winrate system.
Which team is gonna win or lose is already decided beforehand. One team is clearly much better than the other. That’s why people used to dodge really bad team-mates.
No matter how good or bad you are in League, at some point, your winrate will adjust itself as close as possible to %50. So, stomp or get stomped!
8. Ever Changing Meta
Your favorite champions can and will be nerfed to the ground. It’s inevitable because the meta will always revolve around newer champions. So that Riot can sell reward points to players who wanna catch-up with meta immediately.
Meta revolves around professional 5v5 team matches. So, if best teams find a way to take advantage of a champion, Riot will nerf it without considering the tons of non-professional players.
It’s a game taking too much of your time already. And you must study its patch notes, new champions, winrates, and newer guides to keep up with meta or be destroyed? Nah, I don’t think so.
9. Dopamine-Hit and Addictiveness
Your brain gets addicted to dopamine-hit in League of Legends. Believe me when I say this, Riot knows how to take advantage of that fact. Probably that’s why League of Legends is one of the most addictive video games out there.
Here are the ways dopamine hits in you league:
- Every kill or assist.
- Each gold gained from minions. (Even that +25 gold gained from minions, with its notice and click sound.)
- Each new item.
- Unlocking and upgrading skills.
- Getting honors.
- Collecting chests and keys.
- Skins and cosmetics coming out of chests.
- Overall winning games. (Winning even if you play bad after lose-streaks thanks to the fixed winrate system.)
- Winning or losing LP in ranked.
10. People are Quitting League
You tell me, how many of your friends quit playing League in the recent years? Check your friend list again and you will see many nicknames never logged in years. What about your favorite streamers? If not all, some of them are quitting League for sure. After all it’s inevitable.
Consumed time, toxicity, non-rewarding systems. rigged games, trolls, feeders, smurfs, and never-ending grind are the reasons why you should quit League. So, stop the suffering and quit League for good this time.
Thanks for reading! Do let me know what you think about the dopamine addiction of League in the comment section below. See you soon.
I quit this because my ping went from 30 to 60. Unplayable.
