Hello gamer witches. Are you looking for video games featuring characters like yourself? Then you’re in the right place. I got 15 games where you play as a witch character.
A witch is a practitioner of witchcraft. As for the witchcraft, it’s the use of alleged supernatural powers, magic, sigils, and alchemy for the purpose of enlightenment and / or manifestation of will.

Witchcraft was shunned in medieval era. Almost all witches are hunted and killed by the clergy. Of course, that was the medieval times. Surprisingly, witches are on the rise once again in the modern times. People are leaving Abrahamic religions and moving back to the old pagan ways, embracing harmony with nature. Obviously, witchcraft can be used for sinister purposes. However, majority of witches avoid harming others. After all, all magic teachings forbid doing harm.
By the way, almost all witch games are super cute, wholesome, friendly, and fun! That’s why I love them.

2. Little Witch in the Woods
Little Witch in the Woods is a cute RPG featuring the story of an apprentice witch. You explore the mystical forest, help the residents, and experience the daily life of a witch.
The game looks super cute, fun to play, has very positive reviews. So, what’s the catch? Little Witch in the Woods is an unfinished early access game. You can either enjoy what you have or be patient and wait for the full release for much better gameplay experience.
It’s basically the witch version of Stardew Valley with much lesser grind.

5. Black Book
Black Book is a dark, grim RPG adventure based on the pagan Slavic myths. You play as a young witch exploring the world all while fighting evil forces.
Since it’s a deck building game, you cast spells with the cards you have. Combat is turn-based too. All that means you can play the game while chilling and reading about Slavic myths simultaneously.
6. Blacktail
Let’s continue with another witch game focused on Slavic myths. You forge the legend of Baba Yaga from mythology.
It’s a story of a 16-year-old girl named Yaga, she’s accused of witchcraft and expelled from her home. She’ll decide the fate of the land, fate of inhabitants, and fate of herself. Will Baba Yaga be a good witch or an evil one?
7. Wytchwood
Wytchwood is a crafting adventure witch game set in a land of gothic fables and fairytales. (Little Red Riding Hood, Three Little Pigs, The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs, Puss in Boots, etc.) So, even if you have slight interest on fables of old, you’ll find Wytchwood quite amusing.
As the witch of the woods, you’ll be exploring the land, collecting magic ingredients, brewing spells, and passing judgement upon various characters.
8. Dragon Age Origins
It’s one of the best role-playing games where you can play as witch. You can create a mage character in Dragon Age Origins. Then choose blood mage, spirit healer, arcane warrior, or shapeshifter specialization.
There is also the companion Morrigan, The Witch of the Wilds. You can recruit and control witch Morrigan as one of your party members. Yeah, you can romance her too. Wink wink.
9. SIMS
Both Sims 4 and Sims Medieval have witchcraft in them. For those who don’t know, The Sims is a real life themed RPG franchise.
The Sims 4 is free to play on Steam. However, in order to become a spellcaster / witch in it, you need to buy the Realm of Magic DLC. Once you got the DLC, you can dress your sim as a witch, learn countless spells, fly to places with your broom, and conjure a familiar.
The Sims Medieval is a bit different. It’s a story-oriented Sims spinoff game. You play as a medieval hero in it. There 10 hero classes, one of which is a Wizard. It’s fun to play as court wizard in medieval times. Reminds me of the Arthur / Merlin tales.
10. Skyrim
You can literally become anything in Skyrim including a witch. The vanilla game already has alchemy, elemental magic, enchanting, alteration, and restoration spells. Mage’s guild is also a perfect start for a witch playthrough.
But you need mods in order to fully enjoy a Skyrim witch playthrough. There are many mods for that. You can find tons of witch outfits, witch spells, witchcraft related quests, and even witch companions. Just search for Skyrim witch mods on nexus mods website.
11. GrimGrimoire
GrimGrimoire is a 2d side scrolling RTS game where you play as a witch in training at a school for magic.

On the fifth evening, Tower gets attacked by Calvaros’s released spirit for the philosopher stone, everyone is killed. But something unexpected happens. The clock hits midnight and time reverse back 5 days to the beginning of her first day.

12. The Knight Witch
The Knight Witch is a fast-paced metroidvania (exploration-based platformer) adventure! You shoot devastating card-based spells, forge close bound, and make moral choices in a beautifully hand-drawn world in it.
Just a friendly fast-paced action platformer shooter game where you play a witch.
The Knight Witch is more than a game, it’s an art piece in my opinion.

14. Wylde Flowers

Wylde Flower offers 35-60+ hours of immersive, relaxing gameplay.
15. Little Witch Nobeta
Little Witch Nobeta is a super cute anime styled witch game. It’s also a soul-like, meaning as cute as it looks, combats are unforgiving. The game basically explores what would Dark Souls be like in anime style… There are also some interesting puzzles in the game.
You’ll control little witch Nobeta and explore an ancient, unknown castle filled with monsters. But worry not, you have different magic elements in your arsenal.
All in all, it’s a cute challenging witch game. Go for it if you have what it takes.
