I love the role playing games. In fact, it’s my favorite game genre. However, there is a problem with RPGs that’s keeping me away from them unless I have a huge free time. Yes, it’s the playtime! I bet you feel the same. But I have a solution. If you want to play RPGs so badly yet don’t have much time, try short RPGs. I’ve listed below 25 short RPG games for busy gamers like yourself.

So, I compiled short games with 1 to 23 hours playtimes. The playtimes are not including the side quests though. So, if you do side quests, that number might increase to a degree.

3. The Forgotten City

This one is created as a Skyrim quest mod. The mod quickly become one of the most popular Skyrim mods ever. It even got an award from the writer’s guild. As a result, mod creators decided to make it a standalone game.
The Forgotten City starts in Italy. You’re in search of an ancient roman ruins. Then, you fell into the underground, unable to leave… Turns out there is a secret commune living down there. Completely disconnected from outer world, living in Ancient Roman buildings, following Ancient Roman culture.
I don’t want to spoil rest of the story. But I can say this, you must save everyone and get out!
4. Undead Horde
- Playtime: 6 hours
Undead Horde is a diablo like hack & slash and an RPG. What makes it special is that it’s one of those games you can play as villain.
In this game you become a necromancer, raise the dead, and conquer the world. You’ll be marauding lands, razing villages, stealing treasures, killing heroes, reanimating the dead. It’s going to be a mayhem.
Better check out similar necromancer RPGs. Because there aren’t many games allowing you to be a necromancer.
