Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best D&D role-playing games of all times! Whoever plays it, loves it. But those who haven’t played it wonders… Is Baldur’s Gate 3 an open world RPG game? Well, it is time to answer this question once and for all.
Is Baldur’s Gate 3 an open world? The answer is yes. Baldur’s Gate 3 is an open world RPG game. Don’t let anyone say it is not, because it absolutely is. Baldur’s Gate 3 will have 3 acts to play in the full release. Probably you won’t be able to move back and forward between the acts. However, nothing is stopping you from moving freely inside the act you are playing. Players can move to anywhere they want in the order they choose inside the respective acts. Fast travel is also available.
Therefore, Baldur’s Gate 3 is an open world RPG with four different areas or acts. Since it is an open world game, you can take and do the quests in a mixed order. Thanks to that freedom of choice, BG3 have a high replay value.
There are many things to explore in this beautiful world. So, if you are an open world lover, I highly recommend you play Baldur’s Gate 3!
Linear or Open World?
Here is an interesting question. Do you prefer linear or open world games? Of course, the answer depends on the game and its mechanics. However, I always prefer the open world games because of the freedom of choice.
BALDUR’S GATE 3 CLASS TIER LIST
I really like the immersiveness of going wherever you like. Especially being able to trace back your steps to find out the stuff you missed is amazing.
Open world is a better system after all. However, linear world design isn’t really that bad either. Because linear world design allows design higher quality, with a less freedom of choice. I mean, sometimes you have to compromise right?
Well, open world system has it downsizes too. Like extending too much, losing sense of direction, accepting too many quests, etc. Freedom has a price after all.
Anyway, my favorite games are all open world. That says something right? Skyrim, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate 3, Divinity Original Sin 2, Fallout, Mount & Blade, Kingdom Come Deliverance, and Assassin’s Creed series… They are all open world games.
