Welcome to my morale guide for Dawn of Man. Low morale is a big problem in Dawn of Man. You need to maintain high morale for workers to be productive. Because low morale slows down everything. You don’t want your people to work and walk in a turtle speed. So, how to increase morale in Dawn of Man?
Morale can be increased with the following:
- Spiritual: Skull pole, Totem, Menhir, Stone Circle, Statue, and Banner. (People worship these and increase their morale. They need to be idle though, don’t go wild with the workload.)
- Funerary: Burial mound, Dolmen, and Cairn. (Leaving dead lying on the ground reduces morale highly. You need graves.)
- Beer: Produced from Brewery. One beer requires one grain and one water to craft. It increases morale of the people who drink it. You don’t need to go wild with the beer as long as you have right clothing and enough spiritual & funerary buildings.
- Clothing: Clothing is also a big factor in morale. Warmth and style are the two factors every clothing in Dawn of Man. Warmth is for cold in winter and style is for morale. Skins and leather outfits have 1 star in style whereas wool and linen outfits have 2 stars. To keep morale high, always have enough outfits for %100 of your population.
- Workload: Working reduces morale. If you constantly have high workload, morale of the people will be very low. They need some free time to recover morale by worshipping idols you built.
Morale Drainers
Working reduces more no matter what. So, if you overwork people, that’s not only reducing morale but literally killing it. So, always manage workload. It’s okay to overwork during grain harvest time (fall) but the rest of the time, your people need to relax.
People dying also reduces morale of the surviving people, especially if you don’t have free funeral spaces. So, always have enough graves and don’t let your people die pointlessly except for old age. You can’t really do anything about dying from old age after all.
So, to minimize deaths, oversee hunts, have solid defenses, manually defend against raiders, don’t let people go hungry, and pray to the Gods so that a thunderstrike don’t hit your settlers. That’s just about it really.
