Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the best RPG to play in 2022. However, it is really short because of the early access, only act 1 is playable. That leads us to a question. Are there any other games like Baldur’s Gate 3? The answer is absolutely yes. As a matter of fact, I have made a list of 20 games like Baldur’s Gate 3. I really hope you like them.
BEST BALDUR’S GATE 3 MODS < You can still re-play BG3 with mods though.
Let’s see, Baldur’s Gate 3 is a isometric RPG set in fantasy D&D universe. It is also squad based, uses turn based combat, and dialogue heavy.
There are hundreds of games like that. But I will share only 20 high quality games that offers the similar experience.
1. Divinity Original Sin 2
Closest game to Baldur’s Gate 3 is without a doubt is Divinity Original Sin 2. There are multiple reasons for that.
First, they are both have the same genres such as RPG, fantasy, adventure, and strategy. Secondly, their game mechanics are also same. I’m talking about the turn-based combat, party management, and dialogue checks. Finally, both games are developed by the same studio, Larian.
Larian Studios is even criticized for making Baldur’s Gate 3 too similar to Divinity Original Sin 2.
Don’t forget to check out games like Divinity Original Sin 2 as well.
2. Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition
First game of the Divinity Original Sin series is also similar to Baldur’s Gate 3. Well, BG3, DOS2, DOS, these three games are basically the same.
Same creators, mechanics, genre, deep story, and freedom. But of course Divinity Original Sin 1 is much more humble. Because Larian’s current team is 10 times bigger than when it made the first Divinity Original Sin.
DOS is a game funded by Kickstarter. Since BG3 have more budget and advanced technology, it has much better graphics. However, a RPG is a RPG, graphics almost un-necessary.
3. Tyranny
Here is another isometric RPG where your choices REALLY matters.
Tyranny has an interesting story. It is set in a world that is devastated by war and conquered by a despot. Best thing about it is, you can either work for the good of the world, or for your own ambition.
You are neither a hero, nor a mere villager. In tyranny, player takes control of an officer with considerable resources and authority. It is up to you how you use your influence.
Will you accept the status que or dismantle the system from inside?

6. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is highly similar to Baldur’s Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2. As if they have the same developers. But of course not.
Latest game of the Pathfinder franchise takes you to a journey into a realm overrun by demons.

Planescape: Torment is a cult classic and the father of all role playing games. Many consider it the best RPG of all times. Even though it is created in 1999.
So, what makes Planescape: Torment so special? It is not a hack & slash game where you mindlessly attack anything you see. Excellent writing, dialogue based encounters, and branching story makes Planescape: Torment the best of the best. Besides you can play the 2017 remake in your new generation PCs.
All in all, Planescape: Torment is an essential game to play for anyone interested in RPGs.

Game-play in Exanima is hard-core. Also the learning curve might be frustrating sometimes. But it is unique and quite enjoyable nonetheless.
There aren’t really any story or quests though. Maybe they will add some writing in it later with the full release.
11. Shadowrun: Hong Kong
Shadowrun: Hong Kong is a cyberpunk role playing game. Its combat is turn-based just like Baldur’s Gate 3. As well as companion / team management. If you like story driven action RPG, give it a try.
Cyberpunk setting in Shadowrun: Hong Kong is one of a kind. In its dystopian future, you will confuse the tech with magic.
12. Disco Elysium
Let’s continue with one of my favorite role playing games of recent times. I really like it because Disco Elysium is different. Firstly, it is a non-combat RPG where you solve your problems without violence. Second, unique skill system offers many choices and possibilities during conversations. Finally, the writing is brilliant. Story is deep and compelling.
Since it is one of the best detective RPGs, you will encounter many characters, interrogate suspects, crack murders or take bribes. Choices matter after all.
You should most definitely experience this unique experience!
13. Vampire: The Masquerade – Heartless Lullaby
I really like vampires in gaming, literature, and movies. If you also share my enthusiasm on this, you must try Vampire: The Masquerade – Heartless Lullaby.
You step into the night as Zak Riley and Diane, one is mortal and the other is vampire. Change perspectives as you travel through the Heartless Club.
There are dozens of characters to interact, dices to roll, but you must always be read to face the consequences of your actions.
14. Gatewalkers
Gatewalkers is a cooperative action RPG game with survival elements, where players travel across different worlds in order to save their own. Variety and design of different worlds looks brilliant. As a Stargate fan, I really like the concept.
I am sure you will like it. However, Gatewalkers is in alpha state. Which is a huge bummer. Because it is going to take some time to be ready to play:
Alpha > Beta > Early Access > Full Release > Bug Fixes > etc.
Still, it has a huge potential. Therefore waiting might be worth.
15. Rum & Gun
Rum & Gun is a fast-paced action RPG. Perfect combination of Hack & Slash and role playing elements. On top of that, you can play Rum & Gun with your friends in co-op mode.

20. Icewind Dale
Icewind Dale will be the last game on my game like Baldur’s Gate 3 list. First release was at 2000 but you can play the 2014 remake. It is a cult classic RPG game and based on Dungeons & Dragons just like BG3. Except Icewind Dale is using real-time combat mechanics, instead of turn-based.
Customize your characters, explore, battle monsters, plunder dungeons, and uncover the secrets of magic.
So, gather your party and venture forth!
