Games with Flying Cars

Hey Elon Musk, when will Tesla cars start flying? We can't wait therefore we play video games with flying cars.

flying car games

List of 14 futuristic video games where you can operate flying cars. I love operating all kinds of flying vehicles in open-world video games. Such as planes, jets, helicopters, and jetpacks. But today’s topic is more unique. I’m talking about flying cars, the aeromobil.

CYBERPUNK GENRE GAMES

We already have flying cars that are using some kind of drone tech. But they’re very far from mass production and public use. What will the future bring? Flying cars or something much better, who knows…

Most flying car games on this list are cyperpunk themed. I don’t know why. Guess flying car stuff works very well in cyberpunk environment.

Flying car games:

1. Cloudpunk

GO STEAM

Cloudpunk is the number one flying car game on this list because it’s the highest rated game among the games that are focused on flying cars only.

It’s a neon-noir story-based exploration game set in a beautiful cyberpunk metropolis. You’re the driver and it’s your first night on the job.

Don’t miss a delivery, don’t ask what’s in the package, and don’t forget to have fun while driving a flying car!

Cloudpunk is a gorgeous voxel art game I can’t recommend enough. Give it a go even if you don’t like flying cars or cyberpunk genre in general. This is the game that’ll change your mind.

2. Turbo Overkill

GO STEAM

One of the weapons in Turbo Overkill is a car. The car is one of the 10 weapons in the game.

It’s just a car, but unlike regular cars, it can fly and is capable of shooting enemies. Can also do a drive by shooting with your normal weapons from inside the flying car.

Turbo Overkill is one of the most underrated shooter games of recent years. Definitely worth giving a shot even if you’re not really fan of its genre.

3. Celeros

GO STEAM

Celeros is an Airspeeder racing game. Okay, what’s Airspeeder? Airspeeder is an electric flying vehicle racing series based in London. It’s just like NASCAR or F1 but with electric flying vehicles.

Drone-like unique aircraft is built by Alauda Aeronautics. These vehicles are designated to be crewed by human pilots, but the first races took place in November 2021 were remotely piloted.

Now let’s get back to the game. Celeros offers a high-octane racing experience where technology redefines competition. In this game you can control, customize, race, and test the limits of electric flying vehicles across many authentic locations and uniquely designed tracks.

4. Cyberpunk 2077

GO STEAM

Let there be flight introduces flying cars to the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. It is a mod downloaded 600.000+ times and is available on nexusmods for free.

What it does is to enable a configurable flight system for all vehicles. Also introduces custom thruster models, visuals, sound effects, and animations that are worthy of a real deal sci-fi flying car.

There are also other mods which introduce autonomous vehicle, helicopter, and variety of different crafts. But that’s another day’s topic.

All in all, a game like Cyberpunk 2077 should’ve had flying cars. At least modders did the job.

5. GTA 5

GO STEAM

Deluxo is a unique flying car available in vanilla Grand Theft Auto V. It’s in GTA Online as well.

The car has the ability to switch between regular car mode and fly mode. It’s very unrealistic and not lore-friendly, but very fun nonetheless.

Operating a flying car in the most realistic real-world design is very exciting. That’s why I included GTA 5 to this list even though it’s not a game about flying cars.

6. Just Cause 4

GO STEAM

Prisa Avispa C is a unique modern car with a set of small wings and a jet engine. It’s just a different prototype of a AeroMobil.

Its land performance is very mediocre for a game like Just Cause 4. But it can fly in a very high speed.

Soaring Speed Vehicle Pack DLC is required to drive flying car Prisa Avispa C. So, getting the game is not enough, you need DLC as well.

7. The Last Element: Looking For Tomorrow

GO STEAM

The Last Element: Looking For Tomorrow is just another cyberpunk game that’s spawned after Cyberpunk 2077.

It’s an arcade racing game set in a futuristic megalapolis. No quest, no goal, no nothing. Just a regular flying car game where you fly between traffic endlessly.

Still fun though if you like simplicity.

8. Mile High Taxi

GO STEAM

Warning: This game requires controller, playing with a keyboard and mouse is not supported.

What would it be like if Crazy Taxi was set in the future where flying cars exist? That would be the Mile High Taxi. It’s actually Crazy Taxi on drugs.

Mile High Taxi is a taxi driving game where you operate a flying taxi in a very crowded futuristic city. You must deliver passengers in time all while dodging skyscrapers, pedestrians, and other flying cars.

9. The Last Taxi

GO STEAM

It’s VR only. So, skip this and the one above if you don’t have the equipment. If you have VR, let’s continue.

Are you ready to play as the last human taxi driver in a futuristic metropolis? Let me tell you something quick, you’ll have to do more than driving a taxi.

It’s your duty to interact with the passengers and keep them happy as the last human taxi driver. There be lots of dialogue choices and multiple endings to explore in The Last Taxi.

10. Grid Runner

GO STEAM

Another VR exclusive cyberpunk flying car game. It’s the second and final VR exclusive game of this list.

Anyways, Grid Runner will let you drive a flying car at 500 MPH in space traffic. That’s bananas but flying car is already a crazy subject in itself.

The game is set in a futuristic Cyberpunk like city. I believe this game tried to do what’s lacking in Cyberpunk 2077.

11. Cyber Car

GO STEAM

Cyber car is made for VR but also runs in standart setups. So, VR is not mandatory.

The game is set in a big city 200 years from now. There are flying cars, flying ships, transport drones, sentries, and many more futuristic flying objects in it.

The game doesn’t have quest or objective. It’s just a sandbox flying car game where you can relax without all the fuss.

12. The Next World

GO STEAM

I hate to say this, but The Next World looks like a poor man’s Cyberpunk 2077. Is it such a bad thing? I think not!

The Next World is a cyberpunk open-world RPG set in futuristic Los Angeles in 2108. The world is led by a corporate one-world government.

Main protagonist, which is the player character, found out a terrible secret, a secret so powerful it could unmake humanity. The plot unravels from there as the game progress. The future is up to you with 12 possible endings to the game.

Story, graphics, artwork, ideas, and everything else are super promising. Just don’t expect Cyberpunk 2077 quality because nobody has the CD Projekt Red’s budget.

13. Blue Drifter

GO STEAM

Blue Drifter is a small and short flying car game with pixel graphics. You play as a bounty hunter who flies across a rainy planet and tracks down criminals to earn money. I guess it’s inspired by Blade Runner 2049.

The idea and its execution is very good. Atmosphere is also great. Only downside of it is the gameplay length. I wish it was a bit longer than 30 minutes.

If you like the vibes, get it on a sale.

14. Solaronto

GO ITCH IO

Solaronto is a very small but fun Solarpunk exploration game where you try to reach the CN Tower to fill your tanks with energy and bring it back.

In this journey you’ll be flying your futuristic car, fighting enemies, crafting items, and figuring puzzles.

The game is very short but also completely free to play.
