When you create a new character in Pokemmo, the game asks you to choose a starting region. It’s quite important to pick right choice. If you’re about to start Pokemmo, create alt character, or move to another region, this Pokemmo best regions guide will help you tremendously.
I’ve made a ranking of 5 Pokemmo regions below. On the bottom of this article, you can find Pokemmo port cities and their locations also.
In order to travel from one region to another, you must have at least 4 gym badges in the region you want to move away. Once you have the 4 badges, just go to port city of your region and choose your next destination. But keep in mind, in order to turn back, you need to get 4 gym badges in the new region you’re in.
1. Kanto
Kanto is the best starting region. I don’t accept any argument against it! Because the Pokemon Saga started in Kanto. Pokemon season 1 with young trainer Ash started in Kanto with Pikachu, Professor Oak, Misty, Rock, Rocket Team, Gary, and many other iconic characters.
Of course, if you’re young, you’ve probably watched another Pokemon anime. Then you better choose a region you’re more familiar with.
Other than that, Kanto is a region you want to unlock for several reasons. First of all, it’s the most crowded region in Pokemmo. Second, Kanto exclusive Pokemon’s are highly popular.
2. Hoenn
Hoenn is the most profitable region to me because I can farm dittos all the time. Best ditto farming place in Pokemmo is Fallarborn town / Hoenn. You can’t farm ditto anywhere else more effectively. So, the second region I would unlock would always be Hoenn.
It’s a beautiful region with bunch of opportunities other than Dittos. There is an artisan cave in Hoenn in which you can farm countless Smeargles. Smeargle is one of the most popular utility pokemon by the way.
Hmm, what else is good about Hoenn… Another great utility Pokemon is Breloom which is evolving from Shroomish. A wild Shroomish can only be caught in Hoenn. You can caught and sell it for lots of money if you get the stats and or nature right.
Also, you can catch a Breloom alpha spawn in Hoenn which worths a lot of money.
3. Unova
Biggest berry farmlands located in Unova. You can farm berries and make tons of money after unlocking this region. Unova is also the second most crowded region because it’s the default starting region.

Another key thing, fastest breeding place is in Unova. Breeding NPC is very close to PC in Unova therefore you can breed Pokemons super-fast. It’s very important especially if you’re mass breeding and using shiny charm to hatch a shiny Pokemon.
Unova also has an alpha ditto spawn chance which worths a lot in the global trade market.
4. Johto
It’s coming tomorrow! (Community inside joke about Johto never being released.)
Player-base has been waiting Johto for the past 3-4 years. Once it’s out, Johto will be the most crowded and popular region of Pokemmo.
Seriously though, it’s %99 going to be released in 2023.
5. Sinnoh
Sinnoh is the worst region of Pokemmo. Everything about it is time consuming.
Sinnoh is the least crowded region. It’s basically dead. Therefore, for an MMO, Sinnoh is a bad region.
About its Pokemons? They are not good for meta or for visual purposes. Trashy pokemons…
Pokemmo Port Cities
Pokemmo has 5 regions. In order to travel between them, you need to have 4 badges in the region you want to leave and have access to the port city for using the ferry to travel. Complicated stuff man.
And be careful because you can’t go back right away. Once you travel to a new region, you must collect 4 badges again to travel back to your original region. So, be prepared beforehand. I always buy low level Pokemons and store them to my bank before going to a new region.
Pokemmo have 5 port cities which are:
- Vermillion (Kanto)
- Slateport City (Hoenn)
- Castelia City (Unova)
- Goldenrod City (Johto)
- Pastoria City (Sinnoh)
Travelling between regions in Pokemmo is done via the port cities I’ve mentioned above.
When you move to a new region for the first time, all your pokemons gets sent into your bank so that you can do a fresh start. You can go to a bank and withdraw your Pokemons right away but since you don’t have many badges in the new region, your Pokemons will not obey you.
