Single player RPGs mostly include side-kick NPCs to help the player. These NPCs are called companions, followers, supports, pawns, etc. Obviously, all have different personalities. Which personality type is your favorite? Tsundere of course! Today I’ve shared the best tsundere companions in RPG games.
Tsundere is a character with an initially harsh personality who gradually reveals a warmer, friendlier side over time. – Wikipedia
Tsundere is an anime thing. A character starts as sassy, rude, and hating the main character… However, as plot progress, she develops romantic feelings for main character. That’s when her secret, lovely side emerges!
It’s rare but you can still find characters with Tsundere personality in western video games. In fact, I know of three of them. If you know other tsundere characters in role playing games, do let me know in the comments.
3 tsundere companions:
1. Shadowheart
Baldur’s Gate 3 is an early access game with only act 1. Therefore, I’ve only witnessed small part of her story. But let me say this, Shadowheart is the most obnoxious RPG companion you can ever see… Especially at the beginning.
She softens up a little bit by the time you hit the act 1 ending. She’ll probably soften more in the other acts. Guess we’ll see when BG3 gets its full release.
Shadowheart is also a romance interest in Baldur’s Gate 3. Can’t get enough of you my beautiful evil Shar worshipper companion…
2. Taarie
She’s sassy, obnoxious, and even outride rude. Just like every other High Elf in Skyrim. However, once you do her quest (Fit for a Jarl), her demeanor against Dragonborn slightly changes.
Taarie is very different when she’s not trying to sell you clothes. You can wife her up and see how Taarie turns into a sweetheart. She goes from obnoxious high elf to lovely housewife!
Taarie might be ugly like all Skyrim characters. But you can find amazing Taarie visual rework mods on Nexus and turn her into a babe! Just look at the image above. What would we do Skyrim without mods?
3. Morrigan
Best Dragon Age game is the Dragon Age Origins because of its story, locations, and obviously characters. Graphics are very outdated in Dragon Age Origins but its pros overweight cons. One of my favorite things about DAO is the tsundere witch companion Morrigan.
She is stubborn, disagreeable, sarcastic, and tense at the beginning. But the more you hang out with her, the more she softens. She basically goes from ice witch to fire witch metaphorically. I always romance Morrigan in Dragon Age Origins.
Kudos to Claudia Black for doing such a good job voicing Morrigan.
Only got three. So, if you know any other, do let me know in the comment section. And remember, have fun!
