Baldur’s Gate 3 early access released in the 6 October 2020 as an early access game. The thing is, we are almost in the 2023 and the game is still in the early access. Because of this delay, most people want to know about Baldur’s Gate 3 roadmap. When is the full release? Is there a roadmap that we can check out? Let’s discuss the Baldur’s Gate 3 development process.

BALDUR’S GATE 3 EXPECTED FULL RELEASE DATE
There are many questions regarding the BG3 roadmap. When is the console releases? When will the local co-op be available? Will early access ever end? Is there a roadmap that we can follow? Unfortunately, most of these questions are still unanswered by the Larian Studios.
Developers decided not to release a global roadmap. Because they don’t want to let calendar to dictate the process. It is a smart thing to do but a lazy one nonetheless. It eventually made most of the players frustrated with the long waiting.
Larian Studios’ Take on The BG3 Roadmap Discussion
Larian Studios did not release a roadmap for Baldur’s Gate 3. Because they wanted to create this game slow and steady. However, unexpected thing happened, and millions of fans bought the game in the early access. Now there is a huge pressure on the Larian Studios.
Here is a tweet from the Larian Studios founder and developer Swen Vincke regarding this topic:
Our sales are insane – this is just Early Access you all. We just wanted to have a nice little community to iterate with. Now what are we going to do?

Don’t mistake, this doesn’t mean that they are messed up. Larian is a huge video game studio with more than 400 workers across multiple cross-continent offices. They will get this game done beautifully. But it will some time regardless of what players demands.
Can’t wait? GAMES LIKE BALDUR’S GATE 3
An official roadmap would be huge morale boost for us. We can all agree on that. But I have huge faith on the Larian Studios because it is an amazing studio. Divinity Original Sin franchise is the best example of it.
Besides I don’t want an uncomplete game. It is known that the deadlines ruins games. I would rather wait for a complete game than a bug filled unfinished one.
One of the biggest problems of Baldur’s Gate 3 is the never-ending early access. All we know is that the early access will only have act 1. Other acts will be available on the full release.
