The first game of the Dark Souls would be Demon’s Souls. It’s released in 2009 and then remastered in 2020. Since it’s from the same creators with the same game style, it’s considered the spiritual predecessor of Dark Souls Franchise. It’s also the spiritual successor of King’s Field which is a 1994 ps1 game. I guess that’s the ancestor of souls-like games.
