Without delving too deep into spoilers, the story of Atomic Heart is one that explores a variety of political topics. Certainly, on the surface, it does glorify communism, but this is done so as the story is told from Nechaev’s point of view.

Kaiserreich mod offers much better communist experience though. It’s a mod that explores the idea of Germany winning WW1. As a result, England and France become communist. It’s much more fun scenario for those who are interested in communism and what ifs of the history. So, I highly recommend Kaiserreich for true HOI4 communism experience. Though it’s for those who’re familiar with the vanilla HOI4. Newbies might have hard time getting into complex mods.
