Crew management / squad management games are now more popular than ever. I don’t know why but im not complaining either. Because games like FTL and RimWorld have been my favorite games for the past years.

You’ll be leading a mercenary company in a medieval fantasy open-world. You’ll decide where to go, whom to hire, whom to fight, and which contracts to take.
Crew management aspect is very interesting too. You’ll be training your men, equip them with gear, lvl up, unlock perks, and fight big battles.
4. Darkest Dungeon
Darkest Dungeon is a hard-core roguelike RPG. You gather your crew and explore the darkest dungeons.
Crew management is an important part of Darkest Dungeon. However, it’s a rogue-like and your crew members can die permanently.

5. Wartales
Wartales is the best mercenary RPG ever. If you want to play a realistic medieval game about mercenary life, try Wartales. It’s very hardcore.
In the game, you’ll be leading group of mercenaries. The game starts with group of 4. You can recruit more mercenaries along the way, but the soft limit is around 20.
All companions in Wartales have a unique specialization, skill level, weapon preferences, and personalities. You must micro-manage all party members for creating the ultimate mercenary warband.
