2. RimWorld
Rimworld is literally the most addicting game ever. Even right now I want to reinstall it really bad, but I stop myself because I know for sure it would take another 100 hours of my life.
It’s a sci-fi colony sim. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where cannibals, nudists, bandits, organ-harvesters, and rogue AI robots running wild.
All in all, RimWorld is a harsh unforgiving world, and your colony must make a living in it after your ship crash.
3. Surviving the Aftermath
Surviving the Aftermath, a self-explanatory name for a post-apocalyptic management game.
Your duty is to survive and thrive in the post-apocalyptic future. So, build the ultimate disaster proof colony, protect colonist, and restore civilization.
4. Before We Leave
Before We Leave is set in a world that’s recovered from an apocalypse and ready for re-civilizing. It’s also a non-viloence game. Therefore, a cozy, relaxing city builder awaits you.
Your journey starts in the world but doesn’t have to end there. Once you hit the space age, you can settle new lands and planets to spread humanity to star.
5. Endzone – A World Apart
Endzone – A World Apart is a post-apocalyptic survival city builder pretty similar to Surviving the Aftermath. Sometimes I confuse the two.
In Endzone, you must start a new civilization with a group of people after an ecological disaster. But it won’t be an easy job because of the constant radiation, toxic rain, sandstorms and droughts.
6. Floodland
Floodland is another post-apocalyptic survival colony sim. What makes it different is the cause of apocalypse. Climate change!
Explore, scavenge, and build a city in a world destroyed by climate change to survive.
Technology and cultural skill trees of Floodland kinda reminds me of Frostpunk. So, if you liked Frospunk, you should try Floodland next.
7. The Last Haven
The Last Haven, another self-explanatory name for a post-apocalyptic base builder. This one is set in a world after a nuclear war. Which is the greatest threat to humanity in the world we live in.
You must manage the settlement, learn tech, make decisions, produce weapons, organize defense, and raid for supplies in a nuclear winter.
8. Sheltered
Sheltered is a deep and emotional survival management game. It offers true survival experience without clipping out the dark nature of humanity.
In Sheltered, you take on the role of protecting four family members after a global apocalypse. Family comes first. You must do whatever necessary to keep your family safe. The life you know is now over, you can’t be soft. Otherwise you and your family will pay a heavy price.
9. Fallout Shelter
If you love Fallout franchise, don’t miss Fallout Shelter. It’s both on steam (PC) and google play (Mobile). So, you have no excuse not to play it.
It’s a management game set in a vault, a vault that is made to protect humans from nuclear winter. In short, you must keep dwellers happy, and protect them.
10. They Are Billions
They Are Billions is a RTS survival set in a post-apocalyptic planet. You must build and defend your colonies to survive against the billions and billions of infected zombies.
I really love the mix of survival, strategy, and management genres. There is something hugely satisfying about defending…
They Are Billions features 48 missions, 60 hours of gameplay, unique heroes, and unique story. There is one downside though, the game is kinda hard. Unless you’re patient hard-core gamer, you might have hard time getting into it. However, once you get in to it, They Are Billions will take billions of hours from your life!
11. Judgment: Apocalypse Survival
Time of judgement has come! Can your colony survive in a demon-infested, post-apocalyptic world? Yes you can. But only if you build, craft, and perform occult rituals.
Surviving in a demon apocalypse is a bit scary and challenging. But human nature is to survive in any environment regardless of the circumstances.

Here is a hidden gem, Project Apocalpyse. It’s one of those lesser-known good games.

Sand: A Superfluous Game is an open-world base building adventure set in the wasteland of Alaska. It kinda reminds me of the RimWorld. You might feel the same after playing both.

After the Collapes, in short ATC is a post-apocalyptic base building game set in a world featuring urban environments. You’ll be fighting against other factions for the control of the remaining production centers. It’s basically RimWorld set in earth.
Bandits are a huge issue. So, build turrets, train your people, research technology, and survive against the likes of Negan Smith.
15. Oxygen
Imagine a world where toxic magmatic gases reduced the oxygen level in the air nearly to zero. Well, that is exactly the world the game Oxygen set in.
Luckily before the humanity wiped out, the oxygen center is invented. Though it requires huge amount of electricity and water.
You must build, manage, and research in order to keep the oxygen going and survive!
16. Shardpunk: Verminfall
Shardpunk Verminfall is one of those great pixel art games. Talking about pixel graphics, some love it, some hate it. To me, it’s artistic and beautiful.
Anyways, Shardpunk: Verminfall is a game mixes turn-based tactical strategy, RPG, survival, and resource management. It’s an all-in-one game after all.
For the purpose of surviving in the post-apocalyptic world of Shardpunk: Verminfall, you must gather your team, scavenge for resources, seek shelter, and fight enemy hordes. Rough is rough, but you must survive at all costs.
