Chariot is a type of cart (2 wheels transport vehicle pulled by animals) used as a war machine in ancient ages. It was fast, light, open, two-wheeled, and pulled by two or more horses to wreak havoc on enemy infantry. Especially from flanks.
It’s known that chariots are used by Hittites, Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Persians, Indians, Greeks, Celts, Romans, Chinese, and more civilizations.
Chariots are also mentioned in the Old Testament.

One of the playable races of Total War: Warhammer 2 are the Tomb Kings. Though it requires Rise of the Tomb Kings DLC, which is introducing four factions each lead by different legendary lord.
Tomb kings race is consisting of zombies, skeletons, and many mythical creatures from ancient Egypt. Naturally they have many chariot units.
But the most fun thing about Tomb Kings are the legendary zombie pharaohs who can ride Chariot of the Gods. My personal favorite.
By the way the game has chaos chariots, elven chariots, Lizardmen chariots, and of course reanimated Egyptian chariots.

Mount & Blade is a medieval RPG franchise where you take control of a warlord, recruit soldiers, and make a name for yourself in Calradia.
Now both M&B Bannerlord and Warband are moddable games. Many extensive overhaul mods created for both.
Some introduce Roman Times, some introduce Mesoamerica, and some take you to fantasy worlds. In short, there are multiple Mount & Blade mods which introduce chariots as a valid mount for the player. You can quickly find and install a chariot mod online for your favorite Mount & Blade game.

I’ve played all Prince of Persia games. Yet, my favorite is still the Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (2005).
The story, level designs, villains, and the dark prince makes it the best POP game ever.
The game is a regular action adventure and parkour game. It’s not exclusively about chariots. However, for a brief time, you ride a chariot in the Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones.
It’s one of the most thrilling episodes of this game. Riding a chariot in the streets of ancient Babylon is a top-notch experience.

First VR game of this list is Historical Games: Chariot Racing. I personally don’t like VR games, but chariot racing is kinda perfect for a VR setup.
Reliving the spectacle of Roman chariot racing is maybe the action I need. It’s looks very fun; graphics are promising as well.
Though I would buy it only on sale because it’s a 15 – 30 minutes indie game with a limited content.
12. Qvadriga
Qvadriga (Latin) or quadriga is a chariot drawn by four horses. It was mainly used for racing in classical antiquity and in the Roman Empire. Qvadriga also raced in Ancient Olympic Games which is the Olympics of ancient times.
The game is 2D. But Qvadriga is the most popular chariot racing game of all times. Because it uses historically modeled circuses, as realistic as possible racing mechanics, and pretty good AI. Graphics aren’t everything guys and gals.
It’s a tactical racing game where you take control of a chariot team, do upgrades, figure out combinations, and prove your skills in the arena.

Heracles Chariot Racing is exclusive to the PlayStation 2, WiiWare, and PlayStation Portable. However, you can play it on PC with a PS2 emulator. I believe PCSX2 is the most advanced emulator.
It’s a racing game where you play with characters from Greek mythology such as Poseidon, Medusa, Minatour, and of course Heracles.
Heracles Chariot Race is a fun cartoony game which was very good for its era.
15. Rome Circus Maximus: Chariot Race VR
Second and last VR game of this list Rome Circus Maximus: Chariot Race VR. It’s no surprise to see VR games about action filled chariot races.
Alert: Gamepad needed.
I would recommend it to those who want to feel like they’re in a real chariot race in ancient Rome. Because ambient of this game looks so great.
