My all time favorite video game franchise is the Assassin’s Creed. I’ve played each and every AC game ever released. Most of them are great with a few exceptions. However, only 5 of them are at the top level. Spoiler: Best Assassin’s Creed games are the old ones.
Old AC games had smaller maps, shorter budget, and limited technology. But what makes them masterpiece is the story. The game started with the Hashashin order of Hassan-i Sabbah in Alamut castle. It was mind blowing. Then, we got the masterpiece which is Ezio’s trilogy. Just unforgettable memories… The game developers should focus more to story, atmosphere, and immersion without a doubt.
Best games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise:
1. Assassin’s Creed 2
This is where the story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze started.
AC Brotherhood and Revelations are part of Ezio’s story and must be played right after completing AC2.
It’s also the highest rated Assassin’s Creed game on Steam.
2. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
Trilogy of Ezio’s stories ends with Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. It was a good game overall, but it was also a downgrade of Brotherhood in every way possible. That’s why I’m skipping it on this list.

5. Valhalla
It’s the best viking game you can ever play. As someone who loves the TV Series Vikings, I feel like blessed with an Assassin’s Creed game set i nthe Viking Era.
