Hello and welcome to my 2022 best FPS RPG games list. As you already know, most role playing games are played in third person. Still, there are some top tier first person shooter role playing games.
I did not included unreleased games to this such as Starfield, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines 2, Tainted Grail Avalon, etc. However, I will review and include them when they released, ASAP. So, stay tuned!

1. Cyberpunk 2077
The best first person view RPG you can play in 2022 is the notorious, Cyberpunk 2077. I am saying notorious because it was very buggy and messy at the release. Therefore criticized a lot. However, all the bugs are fixed now and the game is runny smoothly. That is why I can easily rank it number one.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a sci-fi cyberpunk RPG in essence. I hope you like the genre. Because Night City awaits you! A dangerous metropolis obsessed with power, glamor, and body modifications. Explore the city, make friends, improve yourself, and write your own legacy.
2. Dying Light 2 Stay Human
Let’s continue with an amazing zombie shooter RPG, Dying Light 2: Stay Human. It is the sequel of award winning Dying Light 1. So, if you have played the first game, you will love the second one.
Story is something like this: The zombie virus has won and the civilization has fallen back to the dark ages of humanity. The last human settlement is on the brink of collapse. Only one person can save it, and that is you! Use your smarts, agility, and combat skills to survive and save the world.
3. Kingdom Come: Deliverance
Are you ready to experience medieval Bohemia in the first-person view? No one can be ready for an artistic creation like Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Story driven RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance takes you to an adventure in the Holy Roman Empire. You will be able to explore many places in Bohemia such as castles, chapels, villages, forests, and more.

4. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
Some people prefers to play Skyrim in third person. But I can never understand that. I always play this game in the first person camera. It is much more interesting to play like that.
Besides, having a surround headset makes first person play much more immersive. You can hear people coming behind you!

5. Fallout 4

You can toggle between first person and third person view in Fallout 4, just like Skyrim. Besides, you will use modern guns in Fallout which is much better to use in the first person camera.
6. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Deus EX: Mankind Divided is easily the second best cyberpunk game after the Cyberpunk 2077 masterpiece. Deus Ex series was really ahead of its time.
Player character Adam Jensen is an experienced covert operative. He must choose the right approach, fight, struggle, and unravel the world-wide conspiracy.
You can expect futurism, thrill, secrets, dramatic events, and deep conspiracy from Deus EX: Mankind Divided.
7. The Outer Worlds
If Cyberpunk 2077 is the best sci-fi RPG of all times, The Outer Worlds is number two. It is created by the creators of Fallout: New Vegas. Therefore it is a masterpiece just like Fallout: New Vegas, one of the best Fallout game.
Get ready to explore a space colony, make hard choices, and fight multiple enemies. You will find true role playing experience in it, that I guarantee.
8. The Forgotten City
At first, The Forgotten City was simply a mod in Skyrim. Then it became super popular and after that, mod creators decided to release it as a standalone game.

If you like RPG, time travel, mystery, and roman architecture you will love The Forgotten City. It is the re-imagined version of the Skyrim mod that won the writers guild award. So, if you haven’t already, give it a shot immidiately.

Medieval Dynasty is a survival role playing game where you have to create and ensure the continuation of your dynasty. As can be seen on the name, this game is based in the medieval ages. In the first person view you can hunt, fish, cook, build, and survive.
Role playing is also a huge aspect of Medieval Dynasty. Because character interaction is the key. You must develop your character and dynasty in any way possible.
10. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines
Best vampire role playing game of all times is Vampire: The Masquerade without a doubt. It is such a cult classic that people still playing this game even in 2022. Another ahead of its time game to delve in.
Dive into the dark and gritty vampire underworld of modern day Los Angeles. As a creature of night of course. Develop your vampire powers, interact with other characters, and embark on a brilliantly written story. You won’t regret.
Phenomenal writing, amazing graphics, and top tier music. Surprisingly it is still playable even though it is a 20 years old game.
11. Borderlands 3
Here is the third and latest game of the role-playing series Borderlands. It is mostly popular because of the multiplayer experience. However, there is a single-player RPG aspect of its also.
Become one of four extraordinary Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities, playstyles, deep skill trees, and tons of personalization options. All Vault Hunters are capable of awesome mayhem alone, but together they are unstoppable.
Some people says story sucks, that I don’t agree. But yeah, story is not really a masterpiece. Yet the game-play is so much fun, you forget about everything else.
12. Terminator: Resistance
First role-playing video game of the Terminator movie series is here. Terminator: Resistance is a first person shooter role playing game based on the iconic movies, The Terminator and T2: Judgement Day.
Machines are attacking, humanity is in despair. Can you save the fate of mankind?
Level up, scavenge, craft, interact with other characters, and fight in the decisive final battle for the fate of humanity.
13. Legend of Grimrock 2
Legend of Grimrock 2 is a hard-core dungeon crawling RPG. It is so old school that you might find it hard to play if you are inexperienced in the mechanics.
So, a group of four prisoners have shipwrecked on the secluded Isle of Nex. This island is filled with dungeons and ancient crypts. Let’s go. Overcome the challenges and make it out alive!
14. Hobo: Tough Life
Take the control of a homeless man in the first person view and try to survive! Hobo: Tough Life is a survival RPG which can be both played single-player and co-op.
You must beg, steal, and scavenge in order to survive upcoming winter! Homeless life is though man… One must do whatever it takes to survive.
It is fun and one of the most interesting role playing games that can be played in the first person view.
15. Postal 2
Even though it is one of the most violent games ever, you can still have a pacifist playthrough. Because it is a role-playing game and you can make many different decisions.
In this game, you will live a week in the life of main character, the Postal dude! First days quest is buying milk from supermarket. What can go wrong? EVERYTHING!
I don’t want to spoil it but this game is exactly what you make of it. Story pushes you to violence but the ultimate choice is yours to make. That’s what Postal 2 is.
