BOOKS BALDUR’S GATE 3 BASED ON

There aren’t many fun or quirky easter eggs found in Baldur’s Gate 3 yet. Because the game is still on development. Still, I can name few easter eggs worth mentioning in the early access. I hope you like them.

Found Easter Eggs in BG3 So Far

Baldur’s Gate 3 is not exactly packed with easter eggs. However, this game is still in the early access and only act 1 is playable. Therefore, in the future we might encounter many more easter eggs in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Easter egg:
An item snuck into a video game by developers, meant for the fun of its hiders and finders alike.

Currently there are 6 secrets & easter eggs available to discover. I want to start with the famous Excalibur legend easter egg, King Arthur’s Sword. Let’s get this started:

1. King Arthur’s Sword

According to legend, there is a sword that deep buried into the stone. It is magically fixed in. Whoever pulls out this sword from this stone is the true king of England! Eventually, Arthur tries and manages to pull sword out of stone. Afterwards, Arthur embraces his true destiny to become a legendary fighter and king.

Excalibur becomes Phalar Aluve in Baldur’s Gate 3. In order to pull this legendary sword out of stone, your character must pass religion / strength checks. Only the worthy can wield this weapon.

Location: Underdark, near Selunite Fort. (X:117 Y:-193)

2. Giant Easter Egg (Literally)

There is a huge chicken / bird nest inside the underdark. That nest contains one huge, cracked egg. Which is as big as a full-grown human.

What is it? A giant bird like monster? A domesticated dragon? We don’t know. However, one thing is certain. Whatever lay this egg is humongous.

Location: Somewhere in the Underdark.

3. Miniature Giant Space Hamster

This miniature giant space hamster is in fact real, and it is the companion of Ranger named Minsc.

Minsc is one of the Baldur’s Gate 3 future companions. We know that for sure because some players data mine Baldur’s Gate 3 files and found out lots of evidence.

He is a neutral good human, and we know him from Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2. But how did he survive more than 100 years? That is yet to be revealed.

4. Mizora Portrait

Baldur’s Gate 3 Mizora is a cambion character related to the companion Wyll’s questline. We hear a lot about her in the early access but never see her.

That is why seeing her portrait can be considered easter egg. This portrait item is called “portrait of a noble”. So, how do we know it’s her? Again, data-mined files revealed how Mizora looks.

Looks like Wyll got himself a beautiful red-headed succubus waifu.

5. BOOOAL

Have you met the human sacrificing fish-men tribe in the Underdark? Nasty fellas.

These evil fish-men worship a blood demanding god called BOOOAL. At least, that’s what they call him.

BALDUR’S GATE 3 GODS DEITIES

So, what kind of easter egg is that? We know Bhaal (God of murder.) from D&D 5e. We also know Baal, a Levantine deity from ancient history. Is BOOAL one of them, both of them, or neither of them?

6. Pickpocketing a Bird

Pickpocketing, thieving, and stealing are my favorite things to do in Larian Games. You should at least use one sneaky character, believe me it’s worth it.

BALDUR’S GATE 3 THIEF BUILD

I rob blind any NPC I can find. However, when I try to pickpocket an animal, things got out of hand…

Pickpocketing failed.

My character sigh and say this:

I can’t pickpocket this. What was I thinking?

Seriously, what was I thinking when I try to pickpocket a bird?

Last small easter egg in BG3 is about a book. Kagha owns a book titled “The Shadow Druids’ Doctrine”, written by a woman named Faldorn. This book hints about the Kagha’s involvement with the Shadow Druids. Also, writer Faldorn is a character from Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2.
