Looking to do a good, righteous run in BG3? Well, good luck lol. Currently, most of the companions in this game are kind of evil. Building a good aligned party in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a hard task. However, I shall help you with that now.
Larian urges people to do an evil playthrough in Baldur’s Gate 3 early access. Because most of the available companions are kind of evil for now. However, I am pretty sure there will be more companions in the future. Anyway, scroll down to view my BG3 companion alingment analysis.
BG3 Companion Alignments
Is Shadowheart evil? Even though she is a dark cleric, I wouldn’t call her evil. Because Shadowheart condems unnecessary killing and violence. That is why I believe she belongs to the good aligned party. At least in the early access anyway.
Actually she is a shar worshipper. Which is really an evil thing to do in Baldur’s Gate universe. However, she still has some good in her. Maybe she is neither good nor evil. Only neutral in that regard.
Wyll is one of the two friendly companion in the early access. The other one is Gale. Wyll claims to be the champion of people. He looks like a good character. However, he has a terrible secret. His pact with cambion / demon Mizora.
He did make a pact with the devil and never regretted. I call him a glory hungry guy. He is probably either good or neutral. Unless, Mizora secretly demands him to do human sacrifices. We don’t know that yet and I would be cautious for now.
Gale, our friendly wizard. He is always polite and charming. Besides, hates witnessing evil doings. Gale is probably the only character that I would call good %100.
Lae’zel might not be evil in her heart. However, her githyanki culture is most definitely evil. Therefore making her evil I guess. Whenever you do something good, Lae’zel disapproves. There is no way to please her. All in all, Lae’zel have no place in a good aligned Baldur’s Gate 3 party.
During tense encounters talking your way out instead of fighting always ends up disappointing Lae’zel.
By the way, one night Lae’zel went feral and killed my character. How about that?
Astarion clearly enjoys seeing other people suffer. I believe he is evil for the sake of being evil. Or perhaps simply because he suffered many years under his vampire master. In any case, Astarion is the most evil early access companion in the game. Therefore he has no place in a good aligned group.
