The Truth About Baldur’s Gate 3 Quest Order

Quest order and main quest of Baldur's Gate 3. Here is my take on BG3 quest walkthrough.

bg3 quest order

What is the Baldur’s Gate 3 quest order? What to do first or where to start? Baldur’s Gate 3 is a linear open-world game. Basically, you can do anything you want. There isn’t really any quest order to follow.

BALDUR’S GATE 3 CLASS TIER LIST

There are some quest and areas you must complete to access certain areas like Underdark. Still, Underdark have multiple entrances, and none require prerequisite quests.

Of course, some quests are easier to do than others. But that doesn’t mean you need to follow a specific quest order in Baldur’s Gate 3. Early access level cap is 4 anyway. So, you can handle almost anything with full group.

Hardest combats of Baldur’s Gate 3 happen in Underdark.

All in all, if combat is too hard for you, simply leave there and complete quests on different areas. Or utilize terrain, throwables, and consumables more. BG3 weighted dice option can also help.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Main Quest (Tadpole)

Baldur’s Gate 3 early access have only one main quest. And that is getting rid of the tadpole living behind your characters eyes.

BG3 main quest: Removing the Parasite

If a person can’t get rid of the tadpole in time, illithid tadpole reaches maturity. That triggers ceremorphosis and finally host turns into a mindflayer.

Main character and rest of the companions are infected with a mindflayer tadpole. In essence, Baldur’s Gate 3 main quest is a time race against the ceremorphosis.

There are many tadpole removal opportunities in early access. However, none of them ends up working in the end.

BALDUR’S GATE 3 TADPOLE POWERS

Well, you didn’t expect to complete main quest in the first act, right?

Anyway, there isn’t really much to talk about main quest. I will update this article once Larian Studios release the full version.

BG3 companion quests are also part of main story. They are not complete yet either. However, we learn much about our companion’s backstory in the act 1.
