Before beginning on our journey in Baldur’s Gate 3, we all probably spend countless hours customizing our character. If you haven’t spend at least 20 minutes in Baldur’s Gate 3 character creation screen to create your avatar and dream character, you did something wrong. I personally spent more time on character creation than playing the actual game!
That’s the thing with the role playing games. We want to create our unique character to fully enjoy role playing experience. Thankfully Baldur’s Gate 3 offers one of the most expanded character creation screens in all modern era role playing games. Check out the video down below for BG3 character creation screen customizations. As you can see, there are tons of options to customize your Tav.
Unattainable beauty standards? As can be seen, these characters looks like supermodels. All character models are absolutely beautiful and highly customizable in Baldur’s Gate 3. Especially tiefling which is my favorite race.
We currently have 8 races and 7 classes, however these numbers will probably double or triple in time with the Baldur’s Gate 3 full release. Because many more races and classes available in DnD universe. Now let us guide the character creation screen options available for Baldur’s Gate 3 at this time.
BG3 character creation screen features:
1. Origin
Origin characters are unavailable in the early access. Therefore, players can only create their own custom origin characters.
You’ve always felt you had greater calling, but it has never borne fruit. Everything changes when you awaken imprisoned on an alien ship. Perhaps your time has finally come.
On this origin screen player can choose their backgrounds and character name which is Tav by default. Lastly, if you want to mod your game to make origin characters playable, check out Baldur’s Gate 3 origin characters page. You will also find future possible origin characters on the link. Currently available origin characters are Astarion, Lae’zel, Gale, Shadowheart, and Wyll.
2. Races
These are the Baldur’s Gate 3 early access races: Elf, tiefling, drow, human, githyanki, dwarf, half-elf, and halfling. Not much for a dnd game I know. However, many more Baldur’s Gate 3 races to be added with the full release. There will be more races for sure. Such as BG3 dragonborn, aasimar, gnome, orc, genasi, missing races, and exotic races. These are some of the upcoming races. Make sure to tell me which race you want the most via comment section.
Race slightly matters in Baldur’s Gate 3. Because all races have their own attributes, and unique race dialogues.
If you hate to wait for race updates, you can always use Baldur’s Gate 3 race mods to create your favorite character.
Will Baldur’s gate 3 have all races? Probably in the future. But currently there are only few characters available. Because the game is not fully released yet. Let’s wait and see in 2023.
3. Appearance
In appearance tab, player can choose their characters gender, voice, face, hairstyle, facial hair, tattoo style, and makeup style. Additionally skin, hair, tattoo, and makeup colors.
To edit your character appearance better, try using these Baldur’s Gate 3 cosmetic mods. Face models are already beautiful. But with mods, you can create much more prettier and unique characters.
Also make sure invest time on your characters looks. Because in Baldur’s Gate 3 you won’t be able to change your character appearance in game, after character creation screen. Undoubtedly some kind of a respec mirror will be added later to the game.
4. Class
Baldur’s Gate 3 early access classes are cleric, fighter, ranger, rogue, warlock, and wizard. Best class for me is the warlock for the early access. Because of the animal speaking and versatility in combat.
Future classes are going to be bard, paladin, monk, sorcerer, barbarian, and druid. Of course we are going to have to wait a lot for new classes to be added.
Nevertheless you are welcome to use Baldur’s Gate 3 class mods in the early access. Instead of waiting for the next class releases. My favorites are paladin, barbarian and bard mods.
5. Abilities
Strength | Intelligence |
Dexterity | Wisdom |
Constitution | Charisma |
There are total 6 abilities exist in Baldur’s Gate 3. Each ability increases different skills.
- Strength: Athletics.
- Dexterity: Acrobatics, sleight of hand, and stealth.
- Constitution: None.
- Intelligence: Arcana, History, Investigation, Nature, and Religion.
- Wisdom: Animal handling, insight, medicine, perception, and survival.
- Charisma: Deception, intimidation, performance, and persuasion.
Strength for fighters, dexterity for rogues, constitution for tanks, intelligence for wizards, wisdom for clerics, and charisma for warlocks.
6. Skills
Baldur’s Gate 3 early access have 18 skills so far. Skills section is mostly depends on your character background, race, and class.
Best and the most useful skill would be the animal handling wisdom skill. Speaking with animals spell is equally important too for enjoying the full story experience. Persuasion is really important as well. Because it might lead to varieties of content.
7. Dream Character
When player completes their character in Baldur’s Gate 3 character creation screen and presses the venture forth button, the journey does not begin, yet. Instead player hears that very interesting line.
TELL ME, WHO DO YOU DREAM OF AT NIGHT?
Baldur’s Gate 3 dream character creation screen appears. This is the screen you create your dream girl, mate, or person. Later, that character will appear at your dreams. Also you will have many dream romance sequences. That is why you shouldn’t skip this windows and spend time to sculpting your dream-fu.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Character Creation Screen Ost
There is something magical about Baldur’s Gate 3 soundtracks. Audio is superb and soundtracks is phenomenal. Now here is a question. What’s the song we listen during character creation?
Baldur’s Gate 3 character creation screen music / song: Borislav Slavov – Dream Song 1
It is great intro music for the exceptionally written Baldur’s Gate 3 saga. Music takes a huge in role playing games after all.
Kudos to Borislav because BG3 OST pieces are quite something.
